Upwind Technology announced GNUWing(TM),
a new GNU distribution for embedded system development
Honolulu, Hawaii, U.S.A., August 4, 2003 - Upwind Technology, Inc., the
leader in embedded GNU software development technology, today announced
GNUWing(TM) - a new GNU distribution specifically designed for embedded
development such as usual RTOS systems and embedded GNU/Linux systems.
GNUWing include GNU binary utility, GNU compiler collection, GNU debugger
and newlib, open source library. It support lots of architecture such as
PowerPC, MIPS, SH, ARM and so on.
"We promice that we provide the worldwide engineer who want to use
good GNU software with a excellent support of GNU software for embedded
system development. Especially in Japanese market, the document and support
in Japanese were not generally. So, GNUWing will be very useful for Japanese
embedded system engineers.", said Kenichi Nakamura, president of Upwind
GNUWing has three edition, FTP edition, package edition and commercial support edition.
GNUWing free edition consist of the following GNU software.
- GNU binary utility - binutils 2.14
- GNU compiler collection - gcc 3.3
- GNU debugger - gdb 5.3
- Library - newlib 1.11.0
GNUWing package edition consist of the following services in addition to
- Japanese document for gas, gcc, gdb
- Japanese menu for gdb
- Japanese installation support for 30 days
- CD-ROM including binary and source code of GNUWing
- Provide CD-ROM including updated version of GNUWing for one year
GNUWing commercial support edition consist of the following services in
addition to package edition.
